Pádraig Mac Piarais

Patrick Pearse (Irish: Pádraig Mac Piarais) was a poet, dramatist and nationalist leader. Famed for his love of Irish and his progressive educational philosophies, he founded his own bilingual school, Scoil Éanna, in Dublin in 1908. He was later executed for his part in leading the Easter Rising. A prolific writer, his plays include 'Íosagán', 'The Singer', 'The King' and 'The Master'.
