Programming Policy

The Barn is an 80-seater black box theatre venue, with gently raked seating. The Barn plays host to performances and rehearsals throughout the year for professional children’s theatre, Kilkenny Youth Theatre and the Adult Theatre Club productions. The Barn isn’t generally a receiving venue, although it features annually as a Kilkenny Arts Festival venue; for 2011’s Gare St. Lazare’s ‘Title and Deed’ and ‘The Big Deal’ by Una McKevitt Productions, in 2012 we hosted workshops and Púca Puppets’ ‘Tic Teac, Tic Teac’. 2013 saw our 1st visit from The Ark, Arts & Cultural Centre for Children.
