An Irish version of the Classical Greek play 'The Bacchae'. In the original play Dionysus - the mercurial god of wine - returns to his home city of Thebes and demands worship from the local people. He infatuates and enraptures the local women - the Bacchae of the play’s title - and they abandon their everyday lives.
