A London flat and a pub in the North of England
Barney Kerrigan is a young Irish actor who has made a career in England. Having just finished a popular TV series, he is interviewed in a northern English pub before a performance of a touring show. In flashbacks, we see how he has fared in the overcrowded theatrical profession, and how his marriage was affected.
