Description
Deilt was a professional theatre and television company which was founded in 1983 by Ray Yeates. Writers such as Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill, Antoine Ó Flatharta, Gabriel Rosenstock, John Mc Ardle and Seán McCarthy have all worked with them. From the beginning it was the aim of Deilt to provide teachers of Irish with innovative material. From 1987 Deilt directed it's energies to developing an adult audience with televisual, film and video resources and their first play for adults 'Daoine ar an Dart' was staged on the DART for the Dublin Theatre Festival 1987. The company ceased production in the early 1990s.
